Team India opener KL Rahul folded his hands to welcome keeper-batter Rishabh Pant as he was walking back to the dressing room following his unbeaten knock on day one of the opening Test against England in Leeds. A video of the same surfaced on social media after the day's play as the dressing room was all praise for Pant and Shubman Gill for their outstanding partnership.

Although Pant had a solid foundation to work with when he entered the crease, the left-hander was fully in control and didn't play any reckless shot. The southpaw stayed unbeaten on 65 off 102 deliveries at Stumps on day one as the partnership with Gill stood unbroken at 138. Gill, on the other hand, is 127 not out.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal slam tons as India take full advantage of batting-friendly conditions
Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal starred for India on day one after England captain Ben Stokes sent the tourists into bat. Brydon Carse broke the 91-run opening stand between KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, while Stokes sent debutant B Sai Sudharsan packing for a duck.
Stokes also dismissed Jaiswal but not before the youngster had slammed a ton, becoming the first Indian opener to achieve the feat of scoring a century at Headingley. The wicket of the 23-year-old ended a 129-run stand with Gill.
The Asian Giants firmly held the upper hand by Stumps as they reached 359/3.
