Former Indian opener Navjot Singh Sidhu brutally roasted Michael Vaughan for his early prediction on the India-England Test series. Sidhu stated that England's bowling attack is pedestrian and that Vaughan is only making noise about how they will emerge victorious.

Vaughan had earlier predicted India to lose the series in England but the young visiting team have responded to the challenge with aplomb on day one of the opening Test at Headingley. Centuries from Shubman Gill (127*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) have propelled Team India to 359/3 at the end of day 1.

Displaying the 2005 Ashes-winning captain's tweet, Sidhu said the below in a video uploaded by Star Sports:

"Michael Vaughan your predictions, they're always wrong. BGT and then the South Africans are never going to win against Australia. I hope you're not predicting an India win now. Look at your bowling attack. They're pedestrians. Three of the Indian batsmen are stepping out and hitting them like spinner. Boss noise proves nothing. Even a hen while laying an egg cackles as if she's laying asteroid. Stop making noise, do something. There is no suffering that pity will not insult. Man you're in a pitiable situation."

"We were just trying to make sure that we play session by session" - Yashasvi Jaiswal

At the post-day presser, Jaiswal stated that all India did was to punish all the loose balls that came their way. The southpaw said, as quoted by India Today:

"We have spoken a lot in the middle and we were just trying to make sure that we play session by session and try as many (runs) as we can get. Especially when there is a loose ball, we try to make sure that we put it in the right places."

The 23-year-old also claimed that he enjoyed batting alongside and under Gill, given his composure in the middle.

"We really enjoyed together. There was amazing camaraderie between us. So, it was amazing to bat with him and he batted really well. The way he has been very calm and composed... I loved batting with him and enjoying under him as well."
