Team India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant was heard imparting advice to his captain Shubman Gill on day one of the opening Test against England at the Headingley, Leeds. In a video surfaced on social media, the left-hander was heard advising the Indian skipper to crouch down and play if he decides to dance down the track.
The moment seemingly came during the closing minutes of the day as off-spinner Shoaib Bashir was bowling. With Gill coming down the pitch to drive the ball, Pant felt the best way to play the spinner is to crouch down.
He was heard saying:
"Neeche hee reh nikal raha hai toh. Neeche reh ke hee reh. Yeh aa jaata. Uth gaya." (Stay down if you are coming down the track. Keep yourself crouching)."
