Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Owing to some unavoidable circumstances the proposed visit of President of India Draupadi Murmu to the city and Barwani on Wednesday and Thursday is cancelled.
Collector Asheesh Singh informed about this development here on the eve of President’s visit on Tuesday late night. Official sources informed that as per the schedule the President had to land at Devi Ahilybai Holkar Airport of the city at 6 pm on Wednesday.
After a brief reception by Governor Mangu Bahi Patel and CM Dr Mohan Yadav at the airport, she had to depart for Residency Kothi for an overnight stay. Next day on Thursday she had to depart for Barwani district to participate in a program organised on World Sickle Cell Day.
Central officers interact with farmers in Depalpur
Dr. Vikrant Singh, Joint Director, Ministry of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Government of India, reached among progressive farmers of Depalpur block of the district.
He went to the Gram Panchayat Manchal and Shahpura of Depalpur block and discussed various issues with the farmers, including high yielding varieties of wheat like durum, aestivum, seed rate, use of balanced fertilizer, sowing of crops with new system, market value of products and wheat production by farmers under the Self-reliant India Campaign, as well as innovations being done by farmers to get more production. During the field visit, discussions were held with Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Indore SK Eske, Assistant Director Agriculture DS Verma, Senior Agriculture Officer Development Block Depalpur Jitendra Charel, Agriculture Extension Officer Ekta Vyalsah and Divyanshi and progressive farmers of the area Lakhan Singh Gehlod, Gajanand Khadiwala, Saligram, Jagdish, Hukkum etc. During this, farmers of both the panchayats were present.
