Maheshwar (Madhya Pradesh): Body of the second youth who drowned in Sahastradhara was retrieved on Monday morning in Maheshwar.

Two Indore youths, Kunal alias Piyush Kaithwas (19) and Sahil Khan (19), had drowned on Sunday evening after being swept away by the strong current while bathing at Sahastradhara waterfall. One friend, Shubham Chauhan, was rescued on time.

Kunal’s body was found on Sunday itself, but Sahil’s body could not be located due to darkness. Search operations by local boatmen and SDRF team resumed on Monday morning. At 11:40 am, Sahil’s body was recovered and sent for post-mortem.

Planned to get married

According to reports, both the deceased were the only sons of their families. Sahil was soon to be married, while Kunal was the only child of his parents. Families are devastated by the sudden loss.

Increase in Narmada's flow

Officials said the Narmada River’s flow had increased due to water release from the Omkareshwar dam, making the area more dangerous.

Maheshwar police have registered a case and recorded statements of friends. Authorities urged people to avoid entering deep or fast-flowing water.
