Salman Khan's longtime personal bodyguard Shera was left bereaved after his father, Sunder Singh Jolly, passed away on August 7, Thursday, in Mumbai. He was reportedly battling cancer. He was 88 at the time of his demise.
Shera shared an official statement on his father's demise, and wrote, "My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today. The last journey will start at 4 PM from my residence 1902, The Park luxury Residences, Off Lokhandwala Back Road, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai."
Salman is expected to pay a visit to Shera's family later in the day.
It was only a few months ago that Shera had put up a heartfelt post for his father on his birthday. "Happy 88th birthday to the strongest man my God my father, my inspiration! Every bit of strength in me comes from you. Love you dad always! (sic)," he wrote, along with photos of his family.

Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, has been associated with Salman for several decades now. While he is the personal bodyguard to the superstar, his company, Tiger Security, offers services to several top Bollywood stars including Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Not just that, but Shera and his company have also provided security to international personalities like Mike Tyson and Justin Bieber.
Shera on working with Salman
During an interview last year, Shera had opened up on the challenges he faces while providing security to Salman. "Salman Khan has a threat to his life, the stars who have a threat to life it is difficult for them to go into the crowd. When you are in security, it is about taking a decision at the right time."
He had shared that the biggest challenge with Salman was to manage the crowd around him. "We protect Salman bhai and local security takes care of the crowd management," he had said.
