Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): To meet the increased travel demand during Raksha Bandhan and provide more comfort to passengers, the Railways has decided to add extra coaches to certain trains.
This will increase the number of available seats and help unreserved passengers as well.
In this move, train 22187/22188 Rani Kamlapati–Adhartal–Rani Kamlapati Express has been given one extra sleeper coach, which will be used as a general coach.
This will add 72 more seats for passengers on August 10 and 11, making travel easier during the festive season.
For the permanent convenience of passengers, the Railways has added two more general coaches to train 12198/12197 Gwalior–Bhopal Intercity Express and train 11801/11802 Gwalior–Prayagraj Express.
With this addition, both trains now have a total of 21 ICF coaches, out of which 15 are general coaches. This significant increase in general class seating is expected to provide much-needed relief to the large number of passengers who travel without reservations, especially during busy periods.
According to railway officials, the move will not only boost the total seating capacity but will also help distribute passengers more evenly across the train, reducing overcrowding and making the travel experience smoother and more comfortable for everyone.
Officials also noted that such measures are particularly important during festival seasons, when trains often run at full capacity, and even standing space becomes limited.
By adding these coaches, the Railways aims to ensure that more passengers can travel safely and conveniently, while also improving overall service efficiency.
