Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone of the first rail and metro coach manufacturing unit ‘Greenfield Rail Coach Manufacturing Centre’ at Raisen’s Dussehra Ground on Sunday.
Spread over more than 60 hectares, the factory will produce coaches for Metro trains and Vande Bharat trains. The first phase of the ₹1,800 crore project is expected to be completed by mid-2026. After this the production will begin.

Addressing the event, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said that farmers affected by excessive rainfall will be given all possible assistance. He also announced that land will be provided for opening schools and colleges. “There will be no shortage in the development of Raisen district,” he added.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed ‘Operation Mahadev,’ recalling how in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, terrorists killed people after asking their religion.
“Today, we take pride in saying that those terrorists were found in Kashmir and shot in the head. The whole world has seen India’s bravery,” he said.
He also emphasised on ‘Swadeshi products’ and encouraged the citizens to boycott foreign products. “If we start buying our essentials made in India, imagine how strong India would become as an economy,” he added.
