Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde conducted a comprehensive review meeting with department heads, emphasizing the need to maintain the city’s top ranking in the ‘Super Swachh League’ of the Swachh Survekshan 2024 and to gear up for Swachh Survekshan 2025 with a detailed action plan.

Calling the national recognition a result of collective efforts by citizens, sanitation workers, and municipal staff, Dr. Shinde congratulated all and noted that the achievement brings greater responsibility to uphold cleanliness standards and implement innovative urban initiatives.

Action Plan for 2025 Survey

The commissioner directed officials to begin preparing a time-bound roadmap for cleanliness goals under the 2025 survey. He also reviewed the recent NMMC Direct Service Recruitment 2025 exams, successfully conducted across 28 centers in 12 districts.

He appreciated the work of nodal officers, center supervisors, and the administrative team, and instructed that training be arranged for newly appointed staff.

Administrative Dashboard Updates

Department-wise reviews were also held on central government-led urban planning reforms and on the implementation of the 150-day action plan under the Chief Minister’s vision. Dr. Shinde asked each department to rigorously fulfill its assigned responsibilities.

Push for Digital Citizen Services

He further stressed the need to encourage citizens to use online platforms for tax payments and called for intensive public awareness campaigns. Additionally, the commissioner took stock of preparations for the upcoming municipal elections.

To improve administrative efficiency, Dr. Shinde directed that departmental dashboards detailing daily operations be updated regularly. He urged department heads to monitor these dashboards consistently and implement necessary process improvements, a statement released by NMMC said.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioners Sunil Pawar and Dr. Rahul Gethe, Deputy Commissioner Sharad Pawar, City Engineer Shirish Aradwad, and other key officials.
