The work is said to be completed by mid of this year.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The renovation work to convert Ujjain's 'Maharaj Bada', belonging to the royal Scindia family, into a heritage hotel is going in full swing. The Tourism Corporation of Madhya Pradesh started the renovation of the royal property around April in 2024. The work is said to be completed by mid of this year.
Tourism Corporation MD Ilaiyaraaja T told mediapersons that the work is underway and soon preparations will be started to inaugurate the hotel.
The property is located adjacent to the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple complex, making it convenient for the guests and tourists.
The lavish hotel will accommodate nearly 20 luxurious rooms. The property aims to mainly cater to VVIPs who visit Ujjain to offer prayers at Mahakaleshwar Temple. The room rent is yet to be fixed; however, it is estimated at around Rs 50,000 for a night.
Nearly Rs 20 crores were spent on the renovation and conversion of the Maharaj Bada into a heritage hotel.
The hotel includes two Maharaja-Maharani suites and three other restaurants.
