Odisha: Just after the distrubing incident of Puri rath yatra stampede, Congress party carried out a protest towards Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi's house. During the protest, a senior officer was recorded giving shocking instructions to the police personnel. In the viral video, he can be heard saying, 'break their legs.'
The video has went viral on the social media as a senior police officer, identified as Bhubaneswar Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Narasingha Bhol can be seen insructing police personnel present to guard the Congress protest. In his speech, he said, "Don't catch them, break their legs. Got it? Don't catch them from here, we are there to catch them. If someone comes near here, you have to break their legs."

Security personnel acknowledges his instructions to which he also talks about the rewards on breaking anyone's legs. He said, "If anyone of you break legs, come to me and get your reward."

The remark was given after Congress workers in Odisha protested against the death of three people in a stampede at the Puri Jaganath Rath Yatra.

Cop Defends His Remarks
Narasingha Bhol, who is seen giving instructions in the video has opened up on the viral video. He clarifies that his words have been taken out of context. "There is a place, time and context in everything. Where was it happening, when was it happening... If you see the video, I told the personnel that 'we are there to arrest them'," he told NDTV.
"The order was to detain unruly protesters at the first barricade itself. However, if somebody breached the two barricades and went beyond them, then that person has already broken the law. He is part of an unlawful assembly. We are free to apply maximum force to stop unlawful assembly," he added.
