England cricket team's former captain and cricketer Jos Buttler is seen praising a young lad from India's Bihar state. In a podcast series hosted by his ex-teammate, England's retired pacer, Stuart Broad, he talked about the emerging talents of Indian cricket team. In his highly praised discussion he compared the young Indian batter with cricket legends, Brian Lara & Yuvraj Singh.
Jos Buttler is referring to none other than, India's emerging opener of Under-19 cricket team and 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who recently made headlines for his staggering outing as the youngest player to play in IPL history. Vaibhav scored his maiden hundred in the tournament against Gujrat Titans where Jos Buttler was keeping the wickets.
In his chat with Broad, Buttler said, "Even at his age, he has played first-class cricket at the age of 12. He is from a very small state from northeast India, I think it's called Bihar. Not many cricketers have been produced from there. I think he has scored the fastest hundred for India under 19 just before the IPL auction."
Buttler also praised about Sooryavanshi's beautiful bat swing and compared it with cricket legends like Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara. The short cutout from the podcast is going viral on the Internet and shows the power and popularity of emerging talents from India.

Buttler on Sooryavanshi's First IPL 100
On Sooryavanshi's hundred against Gujrat Titans Butller said, "It was actually inspiring and deflating at the same time. This guy is 20 year younger than me and he is just smashing us all around the park. Our bowling attack consists of Mohammed Siraj, a brilliant international bowler, Prasidh Krishna, an international bowler, Rashid Khan, best T-20 bowler and he just smashed a scale of sixes and really big sixes."

Recently, Buttler resigned from the captaincy of his national team in February 2025 following England's early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy. Harry Brook has been appointed as his successor.
