WWE legend Hulk Hogan was laid to rest in a private funeral, which was held in Clearwater, Florida, on Tuesday, August 5. Close friends and family attended the funeral, which was a private affair. Hogan died due to a heart attack on July 24. The wrestler was 71 at the time of his passing. The wrestling fraternity were in deep shock after the news of his passing away emerged.

According to People's magazine, the service took place at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Clearwater the city where Hulk, born Terry Gene Bollea, had been living with his wife Sky Daily. According to the report, Hogan’s coffin was carried into the service by pallbearers wearing yellow boutonnieres – the colour synonymous with the iconic yellow costume he wore in the wrestling ring throughout his decades-long career.

Triple H and wife Stephanie McMahon, musician Kid Rock and comedian Theon Von, John Laurinaitis, Jeff Jarrett and ex-wife Linda were among the people seen arriving in Florida for the funeral.

As per the report, The WWE legend had a history of leukemia, according to medical records, and atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heartbeats. Hogan's history of leukaemia, a form of cancer that affects white blood cells, was not previously known.

Hogan and Linda had two children, Nick Hogan, 35, and Brooke Hogan, 37. Three days before the funeral, Nick attended WWE's SummerSlam where the organisation honoured late father on August 2.

According to Dailymail, Hogan's ex-wife Linda, who was married to the wrestler from 1983 to 2009, was seen exiting the service, despite their differences in the months before his death.

Hulk Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE's long history. He main evented the first WrestleMania back in 1985 and remained an unmovable figure in the company for years. During his career, Hogan faced everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon.

During his time at WWE, Hogan won at least six WWE championships and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005. WWE had cut ties with him in 2015 for three years, even removing him from its Hall of Fame, after it was reported that he was recorded using racial slurs. He apologised and said his words were 'unacceptable.'. He was later reinstated there in 2018

Outside of wrestling, Hogan appeared in movies and television shows, including a reality show about his life on VH1, 'Hogan Knows Best.' He had 25 surgeries in the last decade - including 10 back operations, replacements on his knee and hip, and procedures on both shoulders.

At the 2024 Republican National Convention, he merged classic WWE manoeuvres with then-candidate Donald Trump's rhetoric to passionately endorse him for president.
