Mumbai: In a tragic incident highlighting serious safety lapses at a metro construction site, the Kherwadi Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against the supervisor of Jaykumar Construction, following the death of 14-year-old Faizan Parvez Khan. The boy drowned on June 16, in a water-filled pit, allegedly dug for metro construction, which was left without safety barricades, warning signs, or security personnel.
According to the FIR, the complaint was filed by Faizan’s mother, Shabana Khan, 30, a resident of Bharatnagar Chawl, Bandra East. She stated that Faizan, a student of Class 7 in a municipal school, had returned home from school at around 1 PM on June 16. As it was raining heavily, he went outside to enjoy the rain.
