At just 9 years old, Max Alexander is not playing dress-up; he’s dressing stars and setting runways on fire. While most children his age are navigating the fourth grade, Max is busy sketching couture gowns, hosting fashion shows, and collecting international awards, including a Guinness World Record for being the youngest runway fashion designer.

From crayons to couture
Born in 2016 in Los Angeles, Max's journey into fashion started much earlier than most professionals in the field. Inspired by the bold styles of iconic artists like Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo, and Van Gogh during his time at an arts-based preschool, Max didn’t just fall in love with creativity; he declared at age four, quite seriously, "I am a dressmaker."

With the support of his mother, Sherri Madison (an artist herself), Max began experimenting with whatever materials he could find: ribbons, plastic wrap, scraps of fabric, all held together with tape and knots. But the passion was undeniable, and soon, his playtime projects gave way to actual garments sewn with skill and vision.

Couture to the Max
In 2021, Max officially launched his fashion label Couture to the Max, according to his website. By the time he was five, he was taking formal sewing classes, and within a year, he had already presented his debut collection at a runway show in Los Angeles. Since then, he's sewn over 100 custom couture gowns, capturing the attention of stylists, celebrities, and fashion insiders worldwide.

And he isn’t just dressing mannequins; Max has created looks for A-listers like Sharon Stone and Debra Messing, with custom orders now flowing in from across the globe.
Record breaker, rule breaker
In 2024, Max's rise reached a global high as he earned the Guinness World Record for Youngest Runway Fashion Designer, solidifying his place in history, not as a prodigy in the making, but as a designer already in demand.
Despite the headlines and hype, Max remains grounded and passionate, spending hours creating new pieces, sketching ideas, and dreaming up his next show-stopping collection.
