Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Heavy rains on Saturday morning led the Rupa River in Barwani district to overflow. Flood-like scenarios have been created in certain areas of the district. Rajpur, Ojhar, and Balsamund have been severely impacted, with houses and markets submerged and vehicles washed away in the strong waves.
The situation came to a critical point at 4 AM when rain filled the river water to an alarming level. In Rajpur, various low-lying colonies, such as Ward No. 9 (Kumar Mohalla), got waterlogged. People were witnessed running to rescue their possessions as water entered shops and residences.

Vehicles swept away, Power struck in various locations
The power of the water was so strong that four cars were carried away like toys in the current. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported as of yet.
Authorities have put the electricity supply on hold as around 20 transformers were under water. Electricity department squads stand ready awaiting the conditions to stabilize before re-establishing the supply.
Ojhar and Balsamund also affected
Other towns such as Ojhar and Balsamund, are also experiencing the same situation. Water has flooded houses and streets which left the people helpless and worried. The local authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation and are likely to start relief operations once the water starts receding.
Authorities have asked people living in areas prone to flooding to stay alert and not go anywhere close to the river until the situation improves.
