Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic accident was reported in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri on Krishna Janmashtami, when four members of a music band died after a mini-bus collided into a trolley truck. As many as 11 people have sustained injuries.
The mishap happened around 5 AM Saturday on National Highway 46, approximately 30 kilometers from the Shivpuri district headquarters.
According to police, a mini bus carrying 17 members of a Gujarat-based music group collided head-on with a trolley truck. The group was returning after a performance at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
According to the reports, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and veered into the wrong lane which led to a violent collision with the truck.
The impact of the crash was severe, leaving several passengers badly injured. Among the deceased were Hardik Dave (37), Raja Thakur (28); Ankit Thakur (17) and Rajendra Solanki (47). All were part of the same musical band from Gujarat.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Some of the victims still remain in critical condition. Authorities also informed the families of the victims and ensured medical support for the injured.
Surwaya police station in-charge Arvind Chari said that initial findings indicate the bus driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel which caused the tragic accident.
