Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Neemuch district has recently seen a significant change in its police leadership with appointment of two women officers as deputy superintendents of police (DSPs).
On Tuesday, the MP Home Department issued transfer orders for 53 DSP-level officers across the state, including the appointments of Kiran Chauhan and Shaveera Ansari to key positions in Neemuch.
Kiran Chauhan, a 2018 batch officer currently serving as DSP Women Security in Mandsaur, has been appointed as the CSP of Neemuch. Meanwhile, Shaveera Ansari, also from the 2018 batch and previously the SDOP of Alot in Ratlam district, will take over as the SDOP of Manasa.
These appointments come after several months during which these posts remained vacant; an issue highlighted by Free Press in its May 20 edition. The publication reported on the urgent need for appointments, and Ujjain IG Umesh Joga had promised that these positions would be filled soon.
With these new appointments, Neemuch district now has three female DSP officers, which is significant given that both Neemuch and Manasa divisions are considered sensitive areas.
Previously, DSP Nikita Singh managed all three divisions, but the Jawad division remains without an appointed officer. It is anticipated that the next transfer list will include an officer for the Jawad SDOP position, said officials.
