Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of the virtual roll-out of the Metro Train Service for the public by PM Narendra Modi on May 31, the officials of the district administration and IMC took stock of the preparations at Gandhi Nagar Metro Station on Tuesday.

The city is going to enter a new era when PM Narendra Modi will virtually launch Metro Train service on the approximately 6 km long Super Priority Corridor of the Yellow Line, which includes five stations-Gandhinagar Station, Super Corridor 6 Station, Super Corridor 5 Station, Super Corridor 4 Station and Super Corridor 3 Station.

The Super Priority Corridor is not only important from a technical point of view but also as a symbol of the moving towards modernity.

Collector Asheesh Singh visited Gandhi Nagar Metro Station on Tuesday and reviewed the preparations for the inauguration programme and finalised the arrangements. On this occasion, IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, additional commissioner Abhilash Mishra and Metro officials were also present.

There will be 28 stations on the yellow line of the metro which is 31.32 km long (22.62 km elevated and 8.7 km underground), which will make urban travel easy, fast, and environment friendly.

The cost of the entire 31.32 km metro project is about Rs 7,500 cr. Initially, a 6 km corridor is to be inaugurated, which costs about Rs 1520 cr.
