Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): Tragedy unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam where a 16-year-old boy ran over a 1.5-year-old child with a car on Monday morning. The toddler was spotted wandering in front of his house while playing, moments before he was crushed over by a car.
The incident took place in Alkapuri on Monday morning. A 1.5-year-old boy identified as Rishik Tiwari came out of the house while playing while his grandmother stood nearby talking to someone.

A car approached at a slow speed from the direction of Shani Mandir, and Rishik came directly in its path and fell under the car's tyre. Grandmother immediately rushed and attempted to stop the car by holding the bonnet.
However, driver moved the car forward and ran over the child. The driver fled and Rishik died on the spot.
According to police reports, a minor studying in class 12th was driving the car and lives in a rented house in the locality. On Monday morning, his father Surendra Pratap Rathore came to meet his son from the village in a car. The boy took the car out for a drive while his father stayed back at home. During this time, this accident happened.

Police confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered against both the minor driver and his father Surendra Pratap Rathore. A case has been registered against the minor for driving a vehicle and causing death due to negligence, while the father is accused of letting the minor drive the car. Police is further investigating the matter.
