8 illegally, haphazardly parked buses seized
On the instruction of district collector Asheesh Singh, the RTO and administrative officials launched a joint operation against bus operators after finding their buses parked illegally or haphazardly in the city. Eight such buses were seized.
This action was carried out under the guidance of tehsildars Kamlesh Kushwaha and Shivshankar Jaroliya by the RTO team. During the inspection, documents like fitness certificates, permits, insurance papers, PUC (Pollution Under Control) and tax certificates were verified.
The team also checked for issues such as overloading, charging excessive fares and the absence of speed governors in the vehicles.
The seized buses were found at Patel Statue Square, Madhumilan Square, Ring Road and Musakhedi areas. Some buses were found picking up passengers from unauthorised spots while others were being cleaned or repaired in the middle of the road, causing inconvenience to the commuters.
The team also encouraged citizens to install High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on their vehicles. Authorities have appealed to bus operators to operate only from designated stops.
Strict action, including continued seizure of buses will be taken against those who disregard the rules.
