Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old student was found hanging from a tree in a neem orchard in Indore’s Chitawad area on Thursday.
According to information, the incident occurred under Bhawarkuan police station limits and the deceased was identified as Sonu Gangwal, son of Chatrapal Gangwal.
He was preparing for Civil Defense exams. He was originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, and had been living in Indore’s Riddhi Siddhi Hostel.
Police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.
According to police, local residents found the body and informed them. Before that, Sonu’s friends had taken the body to a hospital. His family has been informed, and a postmortem will be conducted once they arrive.
Sonu’s father is an e-rickshaw driver and his elder brother Sanju works for a private company in Noida. Sonu’s brother told police that he spoke to Sonu over the phone on Wednesday afternoon and everything seemed normal.
However, Sonu’s friends informed the police that he had been under stress for the past few days and was troubled due to unknown reasons.
The police are now investigating the matter from all possible angles.
