Indore (Madhya Pradesh): What began as a day of joy turned into a nightmare for a family in Bajrang Nagar when 15-year-old Anushka Tiwari, who had just cleared her Class 10 exams with first division, died in a road accident while returning from her maternal grandmother’s house.
Anushka, who had dreams of becoming a civil servant, had gone with her mother to celebrate the milestone by sharing sweets and blessings with her relatives. The day started with a visit to a temple and ended with applause at her grandmother's home in Lahiya Colony.
But around 10:30 PM, while returning on a scooter near Brilliant Convention Centre, a speeding vehicle hit them, flinging both mother and daughter onto the road.

Death on stretcher
Anushka was rushed to ESIC Hospital with internal injuries, while her mother suffered a head wound. According to the family, Anushka was left unattended on a stretcher for nearly three hours, despite complaining of breathing issues and asking for oxygen. The hospital staff allegedly failed to recognise the severity of her condition due to a lack of visible bleeding.
By the time the family tried to move her to a private hospital, her condition had deteriorated—paralysis set in, and she died shortly after.
A dream cut short
Her father, shattered by the loss, said that Anushka was full of ambition. “She dreamt of becoming a civil servant,” he said, holding back tears. Meanwhile, her mother Bharti remains inconsolable, swinging between moments of fainting and calling out her daughter’s name.
