Bengaluru: A shocking incident surfaced from Karnataka's Bengaluru, where a couple was allegedly seen kissing through the sunroof of a moving car on Sunday night. The incident took place on the Trinity Road. A passer-by filmed the couple's public display of affection. The video video of the incident soon went viral on social media.
In the video, the couple could be seen behaving inappropriately in the moving car bearing Karnataka's registration number. One of the X users tagged the Bengaluru Police in a post and asked for strict action against the couple.
After the video went viral, the incident drew widespread criticism. After the clip went viral, the police immediately swung into action. Cops traced the vehicle on Tuesday. The couple was called to the police station. A fine of Rs 1,500 to the SUV owner, reported The Times of India.
As per the report, Rs 1,000 fine was imposed for dangerous driving and Rs 500 for obstruction to traffic. Notably, the vehicle was registered in the name of a resident of Kammanahalli.
"Using the registration details, we obtained the owner's contact information through RTO records and called him to the station. He came in after a couple of hours," a senior police official told TOI. As per the police, they did not have any visual evidence to prove that the couple was kissing. Notably, the X user who uploaded the video alleged that the couple was kissing through the sunroof.
As per the police, the SUV owner's wife invited her colleagues for dinner at a hotel in Koramangala and then they went out for a drive. The woman was driving the SUV when the incident took place.
No formal complaint has been lodged in the matter.
