After the revelation of Tej Pratap Yadav and Anushka Yadav’s secret relationship, chaos has erupted in Lalu Prasad’s family, sending shockwaves through Bihar’s political landscape. Following the viral circulation of Anushka’s private photos, Lalu Prasad expelled Tej Pratap from the RJD and the family. In retaliation, Anushka’s brother, Akash Yadav, attacked Tejashwi Yadav during a press conference, after which Pashupati Kumar Paras ousted him from his party, the RLJP.
As the controversy escalated, Anushka’s maternal uncle, Professor Fani Yadav, also jumped into the fray, accusing Lalu’s family of intimidation. "They are not handling this properly by resorting to threats. We too have the strength to retaliate," he warned. Meanwhile, Tej Pratap’s wife, Aishwarya Rai, had already opened a front, alleging that "Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap and Lalu are together" and rejected Tej Pratap's expulsion as "decision taken in view of election".

Regarding Tej Pratap and Anushka’s relationship, Fani Yadav argued, "When a boy and girl are adults, the Constitution grants them the right to choose their partners. Love affairs happen in all sections of society. Lalu Yadav should have discussed this with Tej Pratap and Anushka instead of taking harsh steps. They could have even consulted us."
He further pointed out the hypocrisy: "When Tejashwi Yadav had a love affair, Lalu supported him, handed him the party’s leadership, and made him the Leader of the Opposition. But when it came to his second son, he was thrown out of the house. This is unfair."
Fani Yadav also claimed that "Tej Pratap was never in favour of marrying Aishwarya Rai, but Lalu’s family ignored his wishes, leading to this mess."
"We Come From a Respected Family, Not a Mafia"
Escalating his attack, Fani Yadav asserted, "We belong to a dignified and honourable family, not some mafia. Lalu’s relatives—Nagendra Yadav, brother-in-law Subhash Yadav, and Sadhu Yadav—are the ones who turned Lalu’s rule into ‘Jungle Raj’. Our family comes from a distinguished landlord and revolutionary background. They shouldn’t threaten us. We won’t back down, but we do respect the law."
He has also demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar provide adequate security to his sister’s family.
