Bengali actress Sumi Har Choudhury, who has worked with actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and others, was seen wandering in a disoriented condition in West Bengal's Purba Bardhaman on July 14. She was spotted on the roadside near Amila Bazar and could not be recognised by locals, until she herself said that she was an actress.
According to Indian Express, Sumi was wandering aimlessly on the road wearing a black shirt and shorts. She also had a paper with her, on which she was seen scribbling, and along with that, she spoke in broken English and Bengali.
"I’m Sumi Har Choudhury, an actress," she told locals of Khandaghosh when they reached out to help. While people refused to believe her initially, some looked up the name she kept repeating on the internet, and realised she was indeed an actress.
'She gave inconsistent answers': Police
The police was then called, but when they questioned her, they found her to be giving inconsistent answers. She reportedly first said that she was from Kolkata, but then changed it to Bolpur. She has now been moved to a shelter home for the time being.
The police is trying to contact her family, but they have not been able to locate her friends and relatives yet.

On the work front, Sumi once worked in supporting roles in several popular Bengali films, including Dwitiyo Purush, which starred Parambata Chatterjee, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Raima Sen, in lead roles, and was directed by Srijit Mukherjee.
She also worked in Khasi Katha: A Goat Saga, which starred Naseeruddin Siddiqui in the lead role.
Besides, Sumi also featured in daily soaps like Rupsagore Moner Manush and Tumi Ashe Pashe Thakle.
