Singer Neha Bhasin, best known for hit tracks like Kuch Khaas, Dunki, Asalaam-e-Ishqum, and Jag Ghoomeya, recently revealed that she attempted suicide at the age of just 20 after being body-shamed, despite weighing only 50 kg at the time. She was then a part of the girl group Viva, which also featured Seema Ramchandani, Pratichee Mohapatra, Mahua Kamat, and Anushka Manchanda.
Appearing on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast, Bharti TV, Neha shared that when she began her career in 2002, she was put on fat burners in 2003. At the time, she was unaware of their effects due to her young age. Furthermore, the singer revealed that she once had a major fight with the channel her girl group was signed with. When she tried to speak to the head of the channel, another man, who harassed her, also joined the conversation.

She added, "Conference room mein jaise ek bada TV hota hai, usne us TV par video daal diya aur mere pet par circle karte hue bola, 'See, you are so fat. Because of which, we can’t release the video.' I was 50 kg at that time. I remember, I went home aur gusse mein aadhi se zyada bottle fat burners ki kha li thi. That was my way of trying to commit suicide and for two days, I was throwing up, the band did not know what has happened."
In 2024, Neha opened up about her struggle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). She took to social media to share a long note about her health and shared that she has been suffering from it since her teenage years. In 2022, Bhasin was diagnosed with low progesterone, making it difficult for her to "get up and live" for 15 days each month.
