Content creator and actress Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, found herself embroiled in controversy after appearing on an episode of Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent in February. The uproar began over a distasteful remark made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who posed an inappropriate ‘parents’ sex’ question to a contestant. Following the backlash, multiple FIRs were filed against Apoorva.
Apoorva Mukhija Shares Parents' Reaction
Months later, she opened up about her parents' reaction to the controversy. Appearing in director Farah Khan's latest YouTube video, Apoorva shared that while her parents were stressed, they never said anything to her directly. She added, "Mujhe kehte the, 'Koi baat nahi, aisa hota rehta hai. Hum dekhte the ki Deepika Padukone ke saath aisa ho raha hai. Ab tu bhi toh...'"
(They would say, 'It's okay, these things happen. We have seen something similar happened with Deepika Padukone too. Now it's happening to you as well...')

Mazak Laga: Apoorva On Latent Uproar
Farah asked her about her initial reaction upon hearing that India’s Got Latent was receiving backlash and complaints. To this, the 23-year-old said, "Mujhe toh laga mazak ho raha hai, aisa ho hi nahi sakta. Ek din toh main hass rahi thi, ki yeh sab log pagal ho gaye hain. Aisa ho nahi sakta. Jhoot bol rahe hain. Phir uske baad main bahut royi."
Building Owner Blacklisted Apoorva Mukhija
Apoorva also revealed that following the controversy, she was asked to vacate her apartment in Mumbai. While searching for a new place, a building owner recognized her from the Latent row and ended up 'blacklisting' her from the entire building.
Apoorva Mukhija's Work Front
On the work front, Apoorva was recently seen on the reality show The Traitors.
Apoorva also made her acting debut in the Netflix film Nadaaniyan, starring Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan, where she played the role of Khushi’s best friend.
