Delhi Weather Update: Heavy Rain To Lash City This Week; IMD Issues Orange Alert

Delhi: The capital city has been experiencing rainfall for a few days, and residents have gotten relief from the scorching heat and humidity. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the Delhi-NCR regions. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively. Rainfall can create a situation of waterlogging and traffic disruptions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said heavy rainfall is predicted in the city and it is likely to continue through the week. Skies are expected to be cloudy and it is expected to remain the same throughout the day. The rainfall is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. The weather department has issued an orange alert. Apart from Delhi, an orange alert has also been issued in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra.

The AQI in Delhi is likely to stand at 107, which indicates moderate air quality. Some people who are less sensitive to air pollution may also have problems. Sensitive people may face more problems. The higher the AQI, the higher the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern. An AQI of 50 or less indicates good air quality, while an AQI of more than 300 indicates hazardous air quality.
