Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): More than 54,000 people have been screened under the Prime Minister’s TB-free India campaign in the district, official sources said.

A target has been fixed for checking 3.06 lakh people under the campaign. TB-screening staff, CHOs, ANMs, and Asha workers have so far examined 54,986 people.

TB screening work is underway in all development blocks of Narmadapuram under the campaign. Ten TB patients were given fruit baskets under the guidance of chief medical and health officer, Dr Narsingh Gehlot.

TB screening camps have been held in central jail, student hostels, Rain Baseras, and slum areas.

The central government is giving financial aid of ₹ 1,000 a month to TB patients through DBT until they complete treatment, sources further said.

Similarly, those whose body mass index (BMI) is less than 18 and who are prone to coughs and colds should also visit nearby health centres to get examined, the collector and CMHO said.
