Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Noted mountaineer and motivational speaker Bhawna Dehariya introduced a powerful new word — ‘Advenger’ — during her talk at TEDx JUET, held at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET), Raghogarh, Guna, Madhya Pradesh.
In an inspiring session centered around the TEDx theme “Resonance”, Bhawna shared stories from her mountaineering journey, including her historic summit of Mount Everest in 2019. While reflecting on the challenges and risks of high-altitude adventure, she coined the word “Advenger” — describing it as ‘where adventure dares to meet danger.’
Bhawna stated, “This word is born out of my personal journey — a tribute to every mountaineer, explorer, and dreamer who pushes boundaries and walks into the unknown with courage.”
She also praised the organizing team of TEDx JUET for a well-executed event and expressed her gratitude for being part of a platform that celebrates ideas with lasting impact.
As the first woman from Madhya Pradesh to summit Mount Everest and recipient of the prestigious Vikram Award 2023 in adventure sports, Bhawna continues to inspire youth across the country to dream big, break barriers, and embrace challenges.
Bhawna Dehariya was born in Village Tamia, District Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. She reached the summit of Mount Everest on 22 May 2019. She holds a Guinness World Records title for promoting and popularising Indian Himalaya with the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute on 15 August 2020 (Independence Day). She is the Vice President and Brand Ambassador of Jan Parishad, a national level social enterprise.
The Department of Women and Child Development appointed Bhawna and her daughter Siddhi Mishra as brand ambassadors for the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign.
