Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A high alert has been issued in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, following an air strike by the Indian armed forces on terrorist camps in Pakistan.
Gwalior has one of the major air bases of the Indian Air Force in the central India. Balakot air strikes. The Gwalior Air Force Station holds a strategic importance in the air operations. In 2019, Mirages took off from Gwalior air base to conduct air strikes in Balakot.
As a precaution, the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport has been closed until further notice. All flights to and from Gwalior have been cancelled.
Movement of common people around the airport area has also been completely restricted.

Security has been tightened at the airport. CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) personnel have taken charge, and surveillance has been increased.
Only government airport staff are allowed inside, while private staff have been asked to leave.
The airport is located near a major Army base where several military aircraft are stationed.
After the air strike, named “Operation Sindoor,” the airport was shut down as a safety measure. No flights will land or take off until further orders.
Authorities have asked people to remain calm and avoid unnecessary travel near the airport. Extra forces have been deployed in sensitive areas. All actions are being taken for public safety.
