Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Weather in Madhya Pradesh continues to remain unstable due to multiple weather systems.

According to the Meteorological Department, two cyclonic circulations, one western disturbance, and an active trough are affecting the region.

Because of this, several parts of the state are experiencing hailstorms, rainfall, and strong winds.

Weather To Remain Same Till May 11

Senior weather scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran said that the current weather conditions will likely continue until May 11.

May 8: Hail likely in Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Alirajpur, Jhabua. Thunderstorms and rain in 22 districts including Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, and Seoni.

May 9: Rain and storms likely in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Morena, Bhind, and 25 other districts.

May 10: Rain, thunder, and strong winds expected across most major cities including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Ujjain.

May 11: Continued rain and storms in over 40 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Rewa.

On Thursday (May 8), hailstorms are expected in six districts of western Madhya Pradesh—Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Alirajpur, and Jhabua.

There is also an alert for strong winds and thunderstorms in 22 districts, including Indore, Jabalpur, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Shahdol, Singrauli, and others.

Many places already received rain and strong winds earlier this week, causing a drop in daytime temperatures. On Wednesday, Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 28.6°C, which was cooler than Pachmarhi (29.8°C). No city crossed the 40°C mark, with Narsinghpur being the hottest at 39.6°C.

Usually, May is the hottest month in Madhya Pradesh, with temperatures sometimes touching 47–48°C. But this year, weather has turned cloudy and rainy in the first week itself.
