Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A man was booked for cheating a woman by fraudulently securing a loan of ₹37,909 in her name to purchase a television.
Nisha Pasi, resident of village Ghana Khamaria, filed a complaint in which she stated that she needed a personal loan and came to know that Anil Jatav facilitates procuring loans.
She, along with her husband, met Anil on May 8, 2025 and discussed getting a personal loan of ₹30,000. Anil Jatav said he would have to check her credit score (CIBIL).
He took her photo and that of her Aadhaar and PAN cards on his mobile phone. He then told her that her CIBIL was good and he would let her know in 3-4 days her loan amount. Three to four days later, when she asked Jatav about the loan, he said that she loan request had been rejected.
However, on July 3, she received a call from a bank, and the official told her that she had not paid her loan’s EMI. She said she had not taken any loan, and they informed her that an LED TV had been financed in her name.
She went to the bank office with her husband and found Anil Jatav had financed an LED TV worth ₹37,909 from Narang Electronics in her name and address. When she inquired about Jatav, she learned that he had similarly cheated other people.
The loans were fraudulently obtained by taking Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, OTPs, and photos under the pretence of checking her CIBIL.
As a result of the unpaid loan instalments, her credit score has been negatively affected. Based on the written complaint, a case was registered against Anil Jatav under Section 318(4) of the BNS, and an investigation has been initiated.
