Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A case of murder was reported in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal, where a vegetable vendor allegedly killed his friend during a drunken fight, as reported by police on Wednesday.
According to information, the incident took place in the Bagsewania area on Tuesday night.
On receiving information, police registered a case under relevant sections on Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused charging him with murder.
According to reports, the victim was identified as 40-year-old Balwant Singh Gaur, a resident of Arvind Vihar, who worked as a laborer. The accused has been identified as Sunny alias Sachin Gupta. He runs a vegetable cart.
The two were drinking together near a cremation ground when Sunny accused Balwant of stealing his mobile phone.

Argument under influence of alcohol
The argument quickly escalated when Balwant reportedly used abusive language. This angered Sunny and in a fit of rage, he began beating Balwant.
He attacked his face repeatedly with a heavy metal bracelet (kada) that he was wearing.
After the brutal assault, Sunny fled the scene, leaving Balwant bleeding and severely injured. Balwant later succumbed to his injuries.
The police arrested Sunny and produced him in court on Tuesday. He has been sent to jail.
