Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state government has stated that no school in Bhopal has pressurised parents to buy uniforms or books for their children from any specified shop. The government stated this in a written reply to a question raised by Congress MLA Atif Aqueel on Wednesday.
The Congress MLA, citing a complaint filed with Bhopal collector office on July 1, wanted to know which schools were forcing parents to buy the uniform and books from a particular shop.
The government reply to Aqueel wrote that taking note of the complaint, Bhopal collector had instructed the SDM TT Nagar circle to conduct an inquiry into it.

The SDM had constituted a team comprising tehsildar, revenue inspector and two patwaris to look into the complaint. However, they failed to find any irregularities on the part of the shopkeepers.
The team also looked into the complaint regarding the schools but here too no anomaly came to fore and none of the schools were found at fault, the government stated in its reply.
The parents were free to buy uniforms and books from shops of their choice, it further stated.
