Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped after being lured into a relationship on the pretext of getting married. The accused allegedly assaulted the victim physically.
According to reports, the incident took place in a hotel in Murar area. The accused identified as Rahul Rathore called the woman and after a introduction, he claimed to be unmarried and employed in a big organisation. Casual talks quickly escalated into a romantic relationship.
After days of conversation, Rahul invited the woman to a hotel in Murar. The duo then visited Hotel Rama Utsav located at the Number Seven Intersection, where the accused allegedly raped her under the false pretenses of marriage.
However, when the woman initiated the topic about marriage, Rahul began to avoid her questions. His delayed commitment made the woman grew suspicious. Upon investigation she discovered her alleged bachelor lover was already married and is also the father of a child.
Suspecting foul play, the woman began investigating on her own and discovered that Rahul was already married and the father of a child. Shocked and devastated, the victim approached the Murar police station and lodged a formal complaint two days ago.
On being cheated she felt betrayed, the victim reached the police station and complained about the deception. The women police immediately registered the case. As soon as the case was registered, the police raided Rahul's house without any delay.
The accused had come to know about the case and was preparing to abscond. But the police arrested him just in time, before he could flee. He is currently being under interrogation.
The Mahila Thana Police says that on the basis of the girl's complaint, a case of rape has been registered against the accused youth. The accused has been arrested immediately.
