Multan Sultans' skipper and Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan has made headlines with his candid comments about the English language and his role as a cricketer.
In a recent statement ahead of Multan Sultans' first PSL match, Rizwan said, "Mujhe iss se farak nahi padta ki mujhe English nahin aati. Mujhe ek percent bhi sharaam nahi hai. Mera se jo demand hai woh cricket hai. Mere se demand English nahi hai. Mere pass itna time nahi hai ye chesse ke liye."
(I don't care about it. I am not educated; I don't know how to speak English. But I'm not ashamed of it even one percent. I am here to play cricket; I am not here to teach English. My nation demands cricket from me. I don't have time to learn English.)

PSL 2025: Islamabad United will take on Lahore Qalandars in the opening match
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 kicks off with Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars playing the opening match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The defending champions face a team eager to bounce back after a disappointing last season.
Islamabad United are the defending champions having won their third championship last season. Led by Shadab Khan, they finished third in the league stage but hit peak form when it mattered most, defeating the Multan Sultans in a thrilling final. With a strong squad combining experience and young talent, United are once again among the top contenders and will aim to start PSL 2025 on a dominant note.
On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars are looking for redemption after a shocking collapse in 2024. Entering that season as two-time defending champions, Shaheen Afridi’s side managed just one win in ten matches and finished at the bottom of the table.
