The Kalyan Crime Branch arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly killing his 37-year-old lover over a petty issue in Dombivli on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Subhash Bhoir (47). Initially, an Accidental Death Report was filed with the Tilak Nagar police station.
The incident took place in a residential complex in Dombivli, within the jurisdiction of the Tilak Nagar police station, on April 22, when a dead body was found at a home. The accused Bhoir's wife had passed away twenty years ago, while the deceased had been separated from her husband three years ago. The two met, started an affair, and began living together.
The police said that the accused had been in a live-in relationship with the deceased for the last three years. They allegedly started a heated argument three months ago over a petty issue. On April 22, the dispute escalated between them. In a fit of anger, Bhoir strangled her before fleeing the scene. The police rushed to the spot after receiving information from locals and found that she was dead. Later, she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
The police stated that the parents of the deceased approached the police station, suspecting that their daughter had been murdered. Following this, an investigation was launched. A team, including the Crime Branch, was formed. Based on technical intelligence, they located the accused, Bhoir, at Durgadi Bridge in Kalyan. A trap was set, and the team apprehended him.
Anil Shinde, Police Inspector from the Crime Branch, said, "We apprehended him. We will produce him in court on Thursday. During the preliminary investigation, it was learned that he murdered her over a petty issue. Further investigation is ongoing."
