In a major crackdown on illegal activities, Turbhe Police conducted a night-long combing operation on Tuesday under the directives of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Pankaj Dahane. The operation, which began at 9 p.m., resulted in multiple inspections, arrests, and traffic enforcement actions across sensitive areas within the Turbhe police jurisdiction.

The special drive was carried out under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Mayur Bhujbal and supervised by Senior Police Inspector Abasaheb Patil. The operation covered key localities such as Turbhe Store, Turbhe Naka, Indiranagar, Shirawane, Shivaji Nagar, Shramik Nagar, Mahape Village, and Pawane Village.

As part of the drive, 24 hotels and lodges were inspected, and visits were made to five critical and sensitive locations. Police checked five known accused individuals, of whom two were located. Efforts to trace five wanted accused were made, but none were found at their registered addresses.

Three bailable warrants were executed, and action was taken against one individual for drug consumption. Two fixed points were established, and patrolling was carried out at three spots. Additionally, two checkpoints were set up where 125 vehicles were inspected. Four motorists were penalized for drunk driving, while 35 others faced action for traffic rule violations, said police.

The operation also led to action against one illegal liquor seller, one person consuming alcohol in a public place, and one street vendor violating regulations.

A total of 17 officers and 102 police personnel participated in the operation, with support from the Quick Response Team (QRT), RCP team, and Zone I Striking Force.
