Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Tighra police nabbed two miscreants involved in looting jewellery and cash from a woman near Kaitha village at knifepoint.

The accused, identified as residents of Gwalior district, were apprehended near Dhar Wala Pul following a tip-off. Police recovered Rs 4,500 in cash, two 315-bore country-made pistols with eight live rounds, a large iron-cutting machine, three screwdrivers, four mobile phones, and other items. 

The incident occurred on the evening of April 22, 2025, when three masked men on a red motorcycle intercepted the victim’s family near Kaitha village bridge.

Brandishing sharp weapons, the accused snatched gold and silver jewellery, including earrings, a mangalsutra, pendants, a silver waistband, and Rs 5,000 in cash.

The victim filed a complaint with Tighra police station. The case was registered under Section 309(6) of BNS and Section 11/13 of the MPDPK Act. 

Under the directives of senior superintendent of police Dharmvir Singh, a special team led by thana in-charge inspector Shivkumar Sharma tracked down the accused.

During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime and revealed that the stolen jewellery and the motorcycle used in the robbery were with their third accomplice, who remains at large. Further investigation is ongoing.
