Thane Crime: Bhiwandi Police Arrest 2 Accused For Killing BJP Yuva Morcha Leader And Cousin, Hunt On For Others

Thane: After five days of investigation, the Bhiwandi Taluka Police have arrested two men in connection with the brutal double murder of Prafful Tanadagi (42), vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yuva Morcha (Bhiwandi Gramin), and his cousin Tejas Tanadagi (22).

Police Custody Till August 22, Hunt for Remaining Accused

The arrested accused have been identified as Vickky Mhatre and Kalpesh Vaiti, both residents of Bhiwandi Taluka. According to the police, the duo was produced in court and remanded to police custody until August 22 for further investigation.

Victims Attacked Near Office in Khardi Village

The victims, Prafful and Tejas Tanadagi, were residents of Khardi village in Bhiwandi Taluka. They were attacked late in the evening near their office.

Harshvardhan Barve, Senior Police Inspector of Bhiwandi Taluka Police Station, said, “We have launched a manhunt for the absconding accused. Our team is taking the help of technical intelligence.”

According to police, the incident occurred when Prafful and Tejas had just closed their office and were about to head home. They were suddenly attacked by two assailants armed with sharp weapons, including a sword and a knife. Locals later found them lying in a pool of blood and rushed them to a private hospital in Anjurphata, where doctors declared both dead on arrival.
