Thane: A BJP youth wing leader and his associate were brutally murdered in the Bhiwandi area of Thane district, a few kilometres away from Mumbai. The killing took place iate on Monday night, with police suspecting the crime to be a fallout of a business dispute.
Victims Identified, One Of Them Is BJP Functionary
The victims were identified as Prafful Tangdi, 42, BJP Yuva Morcha district deputy chairman, and his associate Tejas Tangdi, 22. The attack took place at Khardi village around 11 pm. According to an Indian Express report quoting Bhiwandi Taluka Police Inspector Harshavardhan Barve, Prafful and two associates were at their JDT Enterprises office when four to five men armed with choppers stormed in and attacked.
Both Prafful and Tejas suffered severe injuries, while another employee sustained critical wounds. The injured were rushed to a local hospital, where the two victims were declared dead on arrival.

Police officials confirmed that Prafful had survived an earlier attack about a year ago. Preliminary investigation suggests that the murders may be linked to a long-standing business rivalry. The victims’ family members have named certain business associates as possible suspects.
“We have found CCTV footage from the area capturing some of the accused. Once they are arrested, we will get a clearer picture of the motive behind the murders,” a police official said according to the report.
A murder case was registered and multiple teams are searching for the attackers. The shocking double murder has triggered tension in the locality, with police increasing patrolling in and around Khardi village.
