A major fire broke out at a chemical godown in Bhiwandi’s Val village on Saturday evening. According to fire officials, no casualties have been reported so far.
The fire reportedly engulfed godowns where chemicals and powders were stored. Despite continuous efforts by firefighters, the blaze remained uncontrolled until late evening.
Massive flames were visible from as far as four to five kilometres away. Local residents reported difficulty breathing and eye irritation due to the heavy smoke and chemical fumes.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and firefighting operations were still underway at the time of reporting.
