Indore (Madhya Pradesh): New India roars like a lion and looks straight into the eyes of the most powerful leaders and talks, Union minister Sanjay Seth said on Sunday while hailing Operation Sindoor for bringing Pakistan to its knees in 22 minutes.
He also said Operation Sindoor was a big win for indigenous weapons and that its impact has resonated across the world.
Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7 to avenge the horrific April 22 Pahalgam attack that saw terrorists gunning down 26 persons, resulted in massive damage to terror infrastructure in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan. Pakistan's counter-attack caused no impact and the two nations decided to cease hostilities on May 10.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told the nation from Bihar's sacred land that terrorists who harm our daughters will be reduced to ashes. During Operation Sindoor, our valiant soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes," the Union minister of state for defence told reporters.
Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) surrendered before his Indian counterpart after the operation, he added.
"Operation Sindoor is a big victory for India. It is a big win for our indigenous weapons. I salute the Indian Army," said Seth.
Seth said Operation Sindoor's impact resonated across the world.
"New India roars like a lion. New India looks straight into the eyes of the most powerful world leaders and talks," he asserted.
Defence MoS launches tree plantation drive on BSF campus
In a heartfelt tribute to mothers and nature, the first ‘Maa Ki Bagiya’ was inaugurated at the Central School of Weapons and Tactics (CSWT) of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday. The initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing national campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (A Tree in Mother’s Name).
Union minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth planted saplings of fruit-bearing trees to mark the beginning of the campaign in the city. The newly created garden aims to promote environmental conservation and community participation while honouring the nurturing spirit of motherhood.
Prominent dignitaries, including Madhya Pradesh urban development and housing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Indore MP Shankar Lalwani and Indore-2 MLA Ramesh Mendola attended the event, hosted by BSF Inspector General Alok Kumar Singh.
Speaking at the event, minister Seth stressed on the urgent need for environmental protection. He praised the role and capabilities of indigenous defence equipment developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, highlighting their successful use in Operation Sindoor.
“BSF is India’s first line of defence and you have once again proved this in Operation Sindoor,” Seth said.
“This battle was not just against our neighbour, but also against other foreign powers and your courage and valour brought victory to the nation,” he added.
Following the plantation drive, BSF IG Alok Kumar Singh presented mementoes to the distinguished guests as a token of gratitude. The ‘Maa Ki Bagiya’ on the BSF campus is expected to become both a symbol of environmental awareness and a place of pride for the force, combining the values of service, protection and respect for nature.
