Mumbai Fire Brigade Shines At World Police & Fire Games 2025 With 4 Medals
The six-member team from the MFB was part of the larger team India. The tournament was held from June 28 to July 6, 2025 and nore than 5,000 athletes from more than 70 countries participated, including employees of 47 fire departments from India.

Mumbai: In the World Police and Fire Games 2025 held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, the team sent by Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) won four medals (two silver and two gold medals) and also created history by winning its first medal on the first day of the tournament.
India finished third in the competition with a total of 588 medals, including 280 gold, 178 silver and 130 bronze.

The MFB team was included firefighter Govind Bijle and four female firefighters Ekta Golkar, Siddhi Sonawane, Shweta Davane and Unnati Chilkewar. The was lead by Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dr. Deepak Ghosh.
Dr Ghosh won bronze medal in the Ultimate Firefighter category (age 55 individual category), Chilkewar won the silver medal in the Stair Race Casual Wear category, Davane won the silver medal in the Stair Race Full Gear category.
