At approximately 11:00 pm on July 8, a woman in the Shivajinagar region noticed the child by himself on Road No 4. Drenched by the rain and evidently disoriented, the boy couldn't express his origins according to report by Midday. The woman, touched by his state, brought him to her home, dried him, and attended to him throughout the night.

The kidnapping took place that day between 12:00 and 14:00 hrs, when the child, who had been sleeping next to his aunt at home, disappeared. At approximately 10:26 p.m., his father, Shabbo Afsar Hashmi, 26, who lives in Govandi, informed the Shivajinagar Police about the incident. A case was filed for the accusations of abduction.

Recognizing the urgency of the case, especially with similar incidents in Mankhurd and Shivajinagar, police launched an operation led by Inspector Bharat Ghone. They reviewed CCTV footage from over 30 locations and shared the child's photo in nearby slum areas.

Their collaborative efforts, along with a compassionate woman who found the boy, resulted in a resolution within 12 hours. Inspector Ghone praised both his team and the public, emphasizing the significance of swift action in abduction cases while investigations continue to find the kidnapper.
