Navi Mumbai: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering women, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has established free legal aid centres for economically weaker and needy women at two locations — Belapur Bhavan in Sector 11, CBD Belapur, and the Divisional Office in Sector 3, Airoli.
These centres, operated by NMMC’s Social Development Department, will offer legal advice and guidance to women dealing with domestic violence, financial hardships, and other family-related issues.
The initiative is focused on supporting women from underprivileged backgrounds within the NMMC jurisdiction by providing them with free access to legal counsel.
The NMMC has urged eligible women to make use of this facility. Those seeking assistance can visit the Social Development Department at the 1st floor of Belapur Bhavan or the ground floor of the Airoli Divisional Office to receive guidance from the legal aid centres.

"The move is part of the civic body’s broader effort to ensure social justice and strengthen support systems for vulnerable women in the city," said an official from NMMC.
