IAF's Jaguar Trainer Aircraft Crashes In Rajasthan's Churu, 2 Pilots Dead
A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Rajasthan's Churu on Wednesday, July 9. The pilot of the the jet reportedly lost his life in the crash.

Churu: A Jaguar jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Rajasthan's Churu on Wednesday, July 9. The pilot of the the jet reportedly lost his life in the crash. The fighter jet was the twin-seater trainer version of the Jaguar aircraft. No damage to civilian property was reported.
As per India Today, the body of the pilot was found in the wreckage of the plane. The aircraft took off from Suratgarh Airbase.

A court of inquiry has been formed by the IAF. "An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan, today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported. IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families in this time of grief. A court of inquiry has been constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident," the IAF said in an X post.
Following the incident, locals gathered at the spot. Several videos from the crash site also surfaced online. In the visuals, debris of the crashed plane could be seen.
After receiving the information, senior police officials also rushed to the spot. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Rajaldesar police station.
The reason of the crash is not known yet.

Jaguar is a British-French supersonic jet attack aircraft. It is an orthodox single-seat, swept-wing, twin-engine fighter jet. In 1979, 18 Royal Air Force (RAF) Jaguars were loaned to the IAF with the first two loaned aircraft operational with Western Air Command in 1979. The second batch of aircraft for the IAF were 40 Jaguar Internationals built at Warton, the first aircraft being delivered in March 1981.
