Lahore: Khalistani leader Gopal Singh Chawla hurled abuses at Pakistani Police outside Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, for not letting his guest cross a check point. In the video, Chawla could be seen incessantly abusing a Pakistani cop in Punjabi and threatening to call top Pakistan Army officials to teach the former a lesson.

Meanwhile, other police personnel were seen pacifying him. Chawla could also be heard saying how dare a Pakistani cop not allow his guest to enter the Gurdwara despite a call from a Brigadier in the Pakistani Army. As per Gopal. His guest was made to wait for an hour outside the holy shrine.

Notably, the Khalistani leader's guest was reportedly stopped by the police for security checking. After Chawla's intervention, his guest was then allowed to enter the gurudwara. Chawla is also a former chief of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

Chawla is a prominent Khalistani leader of Pakistan. He is known for provocative speeches promoting the idea of a separate Sikh land.

His name cropped up in the grenade attack on Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar in 2018. Three people were killed, while 20 others were reportedly injured in the attack carried out by two men on a bike.
